Here are some frequently asked questions we are asked:

What are your fees? As our fees are meant to be affordable, we set them according to our sliding Fee Scale. This scale is based on total annual income. At our initial session, we will collect financial information from you for the purpose of determining your fee.

Do you accept insurance? Many insurance companies cover our services. Please call us to discuss your particular plan.

How do I schedule an appointment? You can call us at 202-449-3789 x 706.


How long is a session? One hour and a half. This allows you to get the maximum benefit of a session.

What is your policy for confidentiality? As counseling is a very personal matter, confidentiality is of the utmost importance. All clients read and sign an informed consent agreement at the first session which details our policies and procedures. We are bound (as part of the agency) by the Code of Ethics for the American Association of Pastoral Counselors as well as that of the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.

You are a Rabbi and work for a pastoral counseling agency. Do you bring religion into therapy? I believe that this work of relationship healing and restoring connection is a spiritual endeavor which has strong roots and connections in my own tradition. I lecture and write about the Jewish perspective on relationships; however, I do not introduce religion into my sessions unless the clients request me to do so.
